Yea! Both Kristin and Sandy tagged me for the Seven Random Things meme that has been floating around. I love being tagged. Especially during NaBlahBlahBlah! Thanks, Ladies!
The rules are:
1. Link to the person that tagged you and post the rules on your blog.
2. Share seven random or weird things about yourself.
3. Tag seven random people at the end of your post and include links to their blogs.
4. Let each person know that they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.
Seven random or weird things about me:
1. I drive with my shoes off, whenever possible. If I can’t remove my shoes for whatever reason, I drive holding my right foot up off the floor. I can’t stand feeling the heel of my shoe scraping on the floor mat. I don’t know why — the heel can rest on any other surface known to man, just not the floor mat. This makes driving long distances more of an endurance test than it really needs to be.
2. I cry every day. I’m kind of like that twenty-minute rain shower they get every day in Hawaii. Once in a while, I cry because I’m sad or lonely or depressed. Usually though, I cry because of a t.v. commercial or a sappy movie ending or because I’m too tired to think or I had a horrible day at work or because my eyes ache. The other day, I cried because the Australian Shepherd I was rooting for won “Best in Show” in the dog show. I’ve given up trying to rationalize it.
3. Small discrepancies in television shows or movies drive me to distraction. I’m not talking about inconsistencies in plot or scene (like when someone is holding a cup and then in the next shot, the cup is on the table, although that too makes me bonkers) but the even smaller things that have nothing to do with the show itself. For example, it drives me insane when a member of a family of five pulls a half-gallon container of milk out of the refrigerator. Who has ever known a family with kids of any size to buy milk by the half-gallon? Most mothers I know buy multiple gallons per trip to the store. And I also hate scenes when someone comes to the door in the middle of winter and everyone stands in the open doorway chatting. Who in their right mind leaves the door hanging open with the furnace running? It’s craziness. And it just bothers me to no end.
4. Besides the stealth bomber birthmark on my back, I have a heart-shaped mark somewhere else on my body. And no, you can’t see it. At least not without buying me dinner first.
5. Although I put no faith in them, a friend and I once visited a psychic. We were driving by at just before midnight on New Year’s Eve several years ago and decided to stop in on a lark. Apparently New Year’s Eve is a pretty busy time for psychics and the like, did you know that? We didn’t either. And no, nothing she said would happen has come true. I wouldn’t go back but it’s one of those things I’m glad I tried once.
6. I high-five myself when I’m able to type in the spam-bot-be-gone code correctly the first time, which sadly, isn’t often. Yes, those insufferable little auto-generated codes that you have to type in on some people’s blogs before your comment can be submitted…I hate those. My eyes are bad and I do not care to be reminded of it constantly.
7. In fact, it took me three tries to pass the vision test for my driver’s license renewal this year. Should they even let you try three times? I don’t know, but when I finally guessed correctly (and yes, I was just guessing), the two women behind the counter cheered. And I made them high-five me too. You’ve got to take your encouragement where you can get it.
And here is where I tag seven more people. I was going to do the blanket tag of anyone participating in NaBloPoMo but I really love it when I get tagged individually (I *heart* the linky-love) so I’ll assume you do too. If you’ve already played or have no interest in this, just ignore. And if I didn’t tag you but you want to play, that would be great!

This was fun to read. I like to drive in my bare feet, too
Thank you for NOT tagging me this time. 9 times out of 10 I am thrilled to be linked to and loved and all that, but I tried this meme once and it was HARD! I don’t think I could do it again!

Alissa — I thought it was hard too! In fact, I’ve been working on it for days now and finally just decided today was the day. And I would have tagged you but I remembered you already did this one. I can’t remember if the others have or not — but I guess I’ll find out!

You don’t live anywhere near me, right? Number 7 makes me scared!
I like your #3. Those kinds of things bug me too. I’ll discuss how it’s not logical to do such-and-such and those around me just roll their eyes. I’m sorry, but can’t they make movies that make sense?
I did it! I found it too easy to do; I have too many idiosyncracies.
Thanks for tagging me; I agree that it’s great to be singled out (at least like this)!

Gosh this made me laugh. I love how you hate the stuff on programs. I would never notice the half gallon of milk thing. But now that you mention it…and the heel on the mat, oh – my – God. I had a girlfriend once that told me she had to sleep with socks on because she couldn’t stand the scratchy feeling of sheets on her toenails. I couldn’t sleep without socks on for a few weeks.
Thanks for posting this, I look forward to reading more about you.

I accept – just not tonight. Back to you in a few days.

I second David’s comment. Thanks for thinking about me.
