Things I’ve learned

  1. It is good to treat people as you want to be treated but better to treat them as they want to be treated.
  2. No matter what decision you make, someone, somewhere will disagree with it. That does not mean they are right.
  3. A person can be polite without being kind. A kind person is both.
  4. Whichever line I choose in the grocery store will automatically become the slowest.
  5. How you treat yourself is equally as important as how you treat others.
  6. Some life choices are best made with the head; others with the heart. If you aren’t sure which to use, listen to your gut.
  7. Shoes can be pretty and comfortable, however, the patience of Job is required to find them.
  8. A person can be a great reader and not be a good writer. A person cannot be a great writer without also being a great reader.
  9. People come in and out of our lives as we need them. This does not mean they are disposable.
  10. When life seems too overwhelming, turn your focus outward. Thinking about someone else puts everything back in perspective.

Good list! After waiting in line over half an hour on Friday, I got a good laugh out of #4.

“Go with your gut” is one of my life’s Cardinal Rules! My gut has never, EVER been wrong and every single time I’ve ignored it? NOT GOOD.

I’ve learned I can’t control everything, no matter how hard I try.

I’ve also learned that despite this, I will never stop trying to control everything.

    Sigh.

    Great list!!

True friends are hard to come by, so cherish the ones you’ve got.

    Brownies can cure heartache.

Cute clean kid outfits only last for seconds, pictures of them last forever. :)

If you don’t feel like your gut has the answer, pray/meditate on the situation. Usually the course of action you wish to pursue or should pursue will surface. Either that or poll 200 of your closest friends and relatives. ;-)

    Wondeful list.

I’ve learned that life can be really tough sometimes, but it helps me appreciate and enjoy the things that aren’t so difficult.

Found you via Mrs. V and I LOVE your list. Wow. I especially like #9 – really made me think about the poor souls in my younger years who deserved better treatment than I gave them. Thanks for the list!
