(Almost) 100 Things To Do

I have always had a mental list of things I wanted to accomplish in my lifetime and I thought it would be great to put them all here, online, as a visual reminder. Some of the things have already been crossed out because the list has been around much longer this blog has. Some things I have done before but want to do again.

The order of things is in no way indicative of importance. The list is not complete, nor is it static. My goals change constantly and what is important to me today, may not be in a year or ten. I realize that and grant myself the freedom to update and revise this list as often as necessary. The only important thing is to experience.

Read something by Jane Austen? You haven’t lived until you’ve done that. Okay, I’m exaggerating a little. But she is a favorite of mine, particularly P&P and S&S.

  2. Mo Says:

Okay. I’m fascinated with #42. You ran for political office and won? Details, please!

I love this list. I’ve done a few of the things on your list, but there are a few that overlap things that I’d like to do.

You have a nice mix of fun and socially responsible.

  3. Alissa Says:

Yes, I’d like to know about the political office thing, too :-)

I like your list. Several things on it would be on my list, too…I especially like the idea of anonymously purchasing someone’s meal. I paid for the meal once of a person behind me in a fast food restaurant drive through–does that count?

Ronnica – I know, I know. I own P&P and one of these days, I WILL read it!

Mo and Alissa – The political office thing, okay. I ran and won the office of City Clerk in my hometown, except we called it Village Clerk because we weren’t large enough to be considered a city. It was very cool to see my name on the ballot, I must say. However, that was pretty much the highlight of my term. ;)

Great list! You have some great ideas on it too. I’ve done a few of those things on your list. You definitely need to do #1. But the best way to do it, is to stand in line at the TKTS booth in Times Square, watch all the people, get your tickets at 50-75% off (good seats too!) It’s worth the two hour line, it really is. It is an experience all on its own. AND you need to get a hot pretzel from a vendor before you get in line. ;) I loved, loved, LOVED my experience in NYC.

  6. David Says:

If you’d take a damn vacation – I mean a real vacation – you could knock #23/#24 off in one fell swoop. Sheesh.

    More to come I hope.

  7. Pity Guest Post #7: Debra « Says:

[...] I was trying to think of a topic for my first ever guest post (which by the way, is #79 on my (almost) 100 Things To Do list! – so yea! I get to cross that off today!), I decided to look back through Alissa’s [...]
